The new browser extension allows you to make payments at Amazon using the best cryptocurrencies. Amazon users can now buy goods using Bitcoin through the Lightning Network due to a new startup called "Moon".
According to TechCrunch, the company with a flashy name has just released a browser extension that will allow you to make payments on the largest e-commerce platform. You can use any Bitcoin wallet with Lightning Network support to make instant transactions. For example, Electrum, one of the most-used Bitcoin wallets, now supports the popular out-of-chain scaling solution. Another option is to connect the extension to your Coinbase account and make a payment using Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin while using the API of the most important US cryptocurrency exchange.
While Overstock.com, Newegg and some other major retailers have already adopted cryptography, Amazon is not moving in that direction yet. The moon makes the magic happen by turning crypto into a fiat without charging extra fees.
Currently, the service is available only in the United States, but soon Moon plans to expand to other countries. In May, U.Today announced how the Flexa Spedn payment application allows Whole Foods, Crate and Barrel and other stationary sellers to accept cryptographic payments
